jTweet is our very popular free twitter module for Joomla. Its based on the sea of clouds. The jTweet script has a good range of options to help you to personalise your twitter stream making it a flexible and stylish option for integrating your tweets into your site.
You can see an example of the jTweet script on the front page slider of the Grid demo site. Here is a quick overview of some of the features available for this module but please check the parameter settings below for a more detailed explanation.
- Set the number of tweets to display
- Choose whether to display your avatar or not.
- Assign a funky twitter icon to the first tweet in your stream.
- Select whether to display just your tweets or all tweets related to a particular topic
- Select auto join phrases according to the nature of your tweet eg specific intro text for replies, verbs, replying to tweets and more.
- Set the text to appear while the tweets loads.
- Filter your own tweets via keywords. eg only display tweets that contain the word “joomla”.
- Control the follow me text at the bottom of the module.
jTweet Styling
Here are some screen shots of the different styling available.
The examples with the bird icons will displayfor the first tweet in the stream while the avatar will display next to all tweets in the stream. Please note that the bird icons and avatar display do not really match so to display the avatar you need to set the first tweet icon to “no icon” and then set the avatar size to the desired size of the avatar. In order to display the bird icon on the first tweet and no icon then you need to set the avatar size to “0”.

Parameters for the jTweet module.
| First Tweet Icon |
This setting determines whether an icon is displayed next to the first tweet in your stream. For the best result if you are displaying an icon next to the stream set the avatar size to 0 or else if you plan on only showing the avatar then set this option to “no icon”. |

Select whether to display your tweets or a general twitter search query. |

Enter your twitter username. |

| Twitter Query |
Enter the search query if you have selected the twitter query in the options above. |

| Avatar Size |
Set the size of your avatar. Set this to 0 if you dont want to display an avatar. |

| Twitter Count |
Set the number of tweets to show in your stream. |

| Display Linking Text? |
Display the linking text. The set of options here relate to the optional use of grammatical links according to the nature of your tweet. |

Select whether to display the follow me text at the bottom of the module which links to your twitter page. |

Enter the follow me text to use at the bottom of the module that links to your twitter page. |
